A young Kilmacrennan woman only stole some children’s clothing after being forced to give up her job because she fell ill while pregnant, a court was told.

Aine Boyle, 24, appeared before Letterkenny District Court today charge with theft from Tesco Supermarket on November 12th, 2014.

Solicitor Kieran Dillon told the court that Ms Boyle had become pregnant in July but had been forced to give up her employment because she was not feeling well.

As a result she became short of means in the run-up to Christmas.

He said that on the occasion Ms Boyle, of Ard na Glaise, Kilmacrennan, paid for groceries but stole Children’s clothing for her two other children aged 4 and 5 to the value of €71.

Judge Paul Kelly asked for a probation report and put the case back until February 7th.
