JIM The Redeemer has arrived in Glenties!
The famous statue of Jim McGuinness made by bookie Paddy Power for last year’s All-Ireland Final Day at Croke Park is finally home turf after community activist Brian Carr asked for it.
“I made contact with Paddy Power and asked could Glenties have the statue when they were finished with it and after being pride of place in their main office they have kindly transported the statue to Glenties bearing all the costs,” said Brian.
“The statue is now at the top of the town for a few days fun and light hearted entertainment.
“We then hope to get the pupils of the Comprehensive to paint the statue and find a permanent home for it.
“I’d like to say ‘Many thanks’ to Paddy Power.”
