A G.A.A coaching seminar will take place in the Rosses Community School on Friday the 6th of March from 7 to 9.30 pm. The seminar is called “Minor to Senior: Guide to a Successful Transition”. Dr. Eugene Young, Ulster Council Director of Coaching and Games Development, and Christy Toye, Donegal Senior Player, will be speaking on the night. Entry is free.
The Dungloe/Na Rossa minor team played their first game in the league at the weekend defeating a strong St Naul’s team on a score line of 4:7 to 1:12. The game was played in wet conditions but goals from Ryan Greene, Sean Mc Monagle, Ryan Connors and Mark Curran proved vital in the end up. Best for Dungloe were Brian O Donnell, Christy Greene, Ryan Greene, Sean and Kevin mc Monagle and James mc Cole.
The Under 12 hurlers travelled to Derry to take part in the finals day of the North West hurling event. The team defeated Dungannon in the first game 10-1. This was followed by a victory over Burt, 4-2. The last game was against Burt again, the final scoring being 4-0. Well done to the lads and especially coaches Paul Noble and Eamonn Diver and thanks to the parents who travelled over the last 3 weekends.
The Under 14 and Under 16 team travelled to Cuchulainns of Armagh at the weekend. The team played several games before they went to watch Donegal and Armagh in the senior game.
In regards to U-6/8 football training, the club have a number of coaches completing their level 1 badges and that requires that they attend two weekend sessions at the end of February. When this has been completed we will return to action and get the training started for all our young boys and girls at the beginning of March!
