A man viciously attacked two Gardai after they tried to get him a taxi home.
Andrejz Siwecki of Hazelbrook Crescent in Letterkenny was so drunk on November 30th last that he could barely stand.
Letterkenny District Court heard how Gardai were trying to help Siwecki at Lower Main Street when he turned around and attacked them.
He head butted the first Garda and then kicked the second Garda in the legs.
He was eventually arrested and taken to Letterkenny Garda station.
The Gardai received several injuries including soft tissue injury ton the face.
The accused was charged with two counts of assault, intoxication and using threatening and abusive language.
The court heard the 26 year old had three previous convictions including intoxication, using threatening and abusive language and failing to comply with Gardai.
Solicitor Patsy Gallagher said his client had little or no recollection of the incident but accepted form Gardai that it happened.
He said he had worked up until a year ago and that he was out celebrating Saint’s Day which was a custom in his country.
Judge Paul Kelly put the case back until May 18th for a community service report.
