The funeral takes place today (SUN) of well-known Letterkenny musician Seamus McShane.
The popular man passed away at the Donegal Hospice on Friday after bravely battling a long illness. He was just 46.
He will be buried following 12 o’clock mass funeral mass at St Eunans Cathedral.
Seamus, or Sheamy as he was affectionately known, touched the lives of many people with his mild-manner and good nature.
A former pupil of Scoil Chomcille and St Eunans he is survived by his parents Jimmy and Mairead of Convent Road and by his brother and two sisters.
Sheamy worked in the UNIFI plant and Boston Scientific but it was as a superbly accomplished musician that he will be most remembered.
Having studied at there Royal Irish Academy of Music, he played several instruments and played with a number of local bands including Cajun Paddy and the Honky Tonk Heroes.
