A man who refused to leave the outside of a closed Chinese restaurant insisting on getting curry chips has been ordered to pay a donation to charity.
Ryan Broderick, 35, was found in a very drunken state by Gardai in at Priomh Sraid, Falctrragh, at 2.30am on May 13th last.
Garda told him the restaurant was closed but he continued to demand curry chips outside the premises.
Broderick, of 58 Glenside, Omagh, Co Tyrone was eventually arrested and charged with failing to comply with the directions of Gardai, using threatening and insulting behaviour and being intoxicated.
Gardai said he was very apologetic when he sobered up and couldn’t understand what he had done.
Judge Paul Kelly said that as a taxi-driver, Broderick would have encountered people in such a drunken condition.
He ordered him to pay €50 to the Irish Wheelchair Association and dismissed the charges.
