Looking out any window in Donegal this weekend and the sight that greets you is one of steamed up windows and the sound of rain pelting and pounding the other side.
You would be forgiven in thinking that it was just another day in winter and we couldn’t possibly be entering the first week of June. The reality is we are looking at what is probably going to be the wettest June Bank Holiday weekend we’ve had in a very long time. With events taking place in Ardara, Fintown, Annagry and Arranmore it’s nothing short of a disaster for the hundreds of people due to attend the weekend long festivities. With Met Éireann predicting a dry start to tomorrow and even some sunny spells in places. Our advice, get out and about early in the day and make the most of it!
As by afternoon, rain and hail showers will become widespread and in some places possible thundery outbursts are to be expected. And with winds strongest near the coast it’s looking like a complete weekend washout for all of Donegal.
