Donegal’s Joseph Duffy will be back in UFC action this Saturday night when he faces Ivan ‘Batman’ Jorge in Glasgow.
Over ONE HUNDRED supporters from Donegal are expected to travel to Glasgow to support Duffy in what will be his second UFC fight.
Duffy produced a stunning debut in Dallas when he defeated Jake Lindsey courtesy of a first round TKO in March.
Duffy was signed by UFC promoters after two stunning KO’s at Cage Warriors.
Duffy is also known for famously being the last man to inflict defeat on current UFC poster boy Conor McGregor.
While the Irish took over Las Vegas for McGregor’s fight last weekend, a similar invasion is expected in ‘Glasgow this weekend’
There is already a large Donegal diaspora in Glasgow and the two places are intrinsically linked.
Duffy will be boosted by the fact that so many supporters are travelling over not only from Donegal, but also London, Wales and even Saudi Arabia.
Denis O’Donnell and Michael Boyle who both work in the tunnelling industry in Saudi Arabia are flying in for the eagerly anticipated clash.
While Duffy’s close friend Liam Boyle cut his romantic holiday in the USA with his girlfriend Lisa Gillespie short to get back in time to see Duffy in action.
With Duffy’s first UFC fight in Dallas, logistically it was very difficult for large numbers to travel over to support the popular Burtonport MMA star.
However, with the fight now in Glasgow it has made it much more accessible for his supporters to see him in action.
Jorge will now be facing a partisan crowd in Glasgow as Duffy attempts to continue his rise up the UFC ranks.
