The brother of a Donegal man killed in a vicious street attack in Dublin three years ago is outraged that the attacker will be freed from jail this week.
Eugene Moloney, from Fahan, died after a one punch attack just yards from his home in Dublin in June 2012.
Mechanic Gary Burch, 26, was found guilty of manslaughter and jailed for five and a half years for the attack with the final two years suspended.
Eugene’s brother Sean, 60, is outraged that his brother’s killer will now be free to get on with his life when he walks free this week.
He said “My family is absolutely disgusted that this man will be back on the streets this week and can continue with his life.
“Not only was Eugene’s life taken away in a horrific and violent way, but our family will have to live with the terrible consequences of his loss for the rest of our lives.”
Sean recently refurbished a boat and named it after his late brother.
A court heard how Eugene was walking home to his house at Portobello, when he was attacked on Camden Street.
