With the New year fully in swing it’s time to get some of those New Year resolutions in place- if you haven’t had time for 2016 hair and beauty resolutions – it’s not too late!

Elaine McKean – Artistic Director & Head of Education, says that there are so many ways to include your hair in your annual ritual of positive changes – here are some of them!

Commit to making a change! – We know that your hair may be beautiful but if you have had the same style for a long time it’s probably time for a change. You would be surprised what you can achieve from an in-depth consultation where your look would be matched to your personality, style and face shape. A change can of course be in terms of colour or a cut or both. Don’t be afraid to experiment even the slightest change can end up making you look and feel amazing; in fact, you will probably look in the mirror and wonder why you didn’t do this ages ago! Go on give it go!

Take better care of your hair! – make a resolution to take better care of your hair or if you are using the same products for a long time why not try something new! Maybe have been using the wrong home hair care products for a long time or your hair has been damaged by harsh weather conditions, styling tools or harsh chemicals. Consider updating your shampoo and conditioner to one prescribed for your hair type. This will make a huge difference to you and will show almost immediately in your hair health and shine.

Go for the chop- we know how scary it can be to get your hair cut- especially if you have had long luscious locks your whole life but Elaine says now is the time to give it a try because bobs are set to be huge this year and is a great way to refresh your look. Remember hair grows back- have some fun with it!

Experiment with colour- When choosing a colour even the subtlest changes can make a big difference. Have you always been blonde? Maybe you should try going a little darker- the very popular Bronde colour would strike a good balance in the same way is if you are darker try adding some lighter tones the choices are endless and remember nothing is forever! The important thing here is the correct colour choice for your skin tone and professional application to get an even beautiful colour while highlighting certain features.

If you are unsure of making some major changes Elaine says you can take baby steps with some small changes and add to them each time. Let the New year bring with it a New You! Why not?
