ANOTHER SERIOUS CRASH ON LETTERKENNY TO DERRY ROAD

UPDATED: A serious road traffic accident which forced the closure this morning of the main Letterkenny to Derry Road close to Newtowncunningham has now re-opened.

It is understood that at least one person has been injured in the crash which took place just after 10am.

It is understood two cars are involved in the crash.

Eye-witnesses say the accident is approximately one hundred yards from where two people lost their lives on November 13th last.

We will bring you more on this incident as it develops.

A statement from Donegal County Council have put road diversions in place following the crash at Killyverry.

Traffic coming from Inishowen and Derry directions is being diverted from Newtowncunningham to St. Johnston to Lifford to Letterkenny and traffic from the Letterkenny direction is being diverted via Lifford to St. Johnston to Newtowncunningham.

Donegal County Council would like to thank all road users for their patience and co-operation on this matter.
