GOLF NEWS: JAMES MCGUINNESS IN SENSATIONAL FORM AT NAIRN AND PORTNOO

All the club fixtures for 2016 are now on the board in the locker room,  Captain Sean Hanrahan is in the process of selecting Captains for the different competitions.

The Council of National Golf Unions have announced that the Unified Handicapping system has been revised changes take effect from 1st January 2016, the Congu manual will be available shortly. Among the most significant changed for 2016 are as following, the handicap year will now follow the calendar year 1st January to 31st December, for Four Ball Handicap Allowance in stroke play each partner will receive 90% of their full handicap, and in match play the back marker now concedes strokes to the other three players based on 90% of the difference between the full handicaps rather than 75% (3/4 as at present

Exact Handicaps in Ireland lowest exact is now restricted to 1.0 stroke increase in a calendar year, to view all changes go to www.congu.com

Its looking like a tight finish in the Winter League as a number of players are within a shot at the top

The course is in excellent condition at the moment thanks to our Green Staff  but the same old problem still arises some members not repairing pitch marks, as we always say it your course look after it if you want excellent greens Repair Pitch Marks

James Mc Guinness was in top form at the weekend with a fantastic score of 41pts for 16 holes
