Knock Airport.

Knock Airport.

2016 is shaping up to be the busiest year in the 30 year history of the West of Irelands main international airport – and Donegal customers are set to benefit.

Thanks to the introduction of new flights to Birmingham and Edinburgh with Flybe and a new holiday charter service to Costa Dorada in Spain with Falcon and Thomson Holidays, the airport expects passenger numbers to increase to over 710,000 for the first time this year.

The Airport now serves 23 International destinations and is served by three of Europes major International airlines, Aer Lingus, Flybe and Ryanair.

The airport is the fourth largest airport in Ireland and the primary international gateway for the West, North West and Midlands regions of Ireland. The airport offers the largest choice of UK destinations from any airport along the Western seaboard, with over 100 weekly flights to and from key UK markets such as London Luton and Stansted with Ryanair, London Gatwick with Aer Lingus, Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh with Flybe and Bristol, East Midlands and Liverpool with Ryanair.

In the last few years the airport has become a popular gateway for sun breaks with the addition of a number of new services to European hotspots including Alicante, Barcelona, Croatia, Faro-Algarve, Lanzarote, Milan and Tenerife which have proved hugely popular with holidaymakers from Donegal in particular with over 30,000 people from Donegal in 2015 opting for Ireland West Airport Knock due to the convenience, value for money and hassle free nature of travelling from the airport.

Not only is there a large selection of destinations to choose from but you can now also book your car parking online on www.irelandwestairport.com and enjoy savings of up to 30% on the normal price of airport parking, with a weeks parking available now to pre-book online from just €25, which is amongst the cheapest airport parking rates available in the country.

2016 promises to be another exciting year at Ireland West Airport Knock as the airport celebrates the 30th anniversary of the official opening of the airport in May which will be a great occasion for the airport and the ten million passengers who have used the facility since it first opened.

2016 will also see the start of three new services to Birmingham and Edinburgh with Flybe and also Costa Dorada with Falcon and Thomson Holidays and also the arrival of sa very special charter flight from Boston in the US in July. The Airport continues to add new services and further develop its service offering and facilities to continue to attract new customers from all over Ireland.
