DONEGAL SCHOOL GRANTED €58K FOR NEW ASTRO TURF PITCH

GAA star Frank McGlynn visited Stramore NS.

Minister of State for Gaeltacht Affairs Joe McHugh has announced a grant of €57,954 for the Board of Management at Scoil an tSratha Mhóír, Stramore, to help them develop an astro-turf pitch.

Announcing the grant, Minister McHugh said he was making this grant available on the condition that the school will iplement a realistic Irish plan that will be agreeable by the Department especially for the youth of the area.

“There is a lot of working taking place in this area with regards the Irish language, and I wish to commend the Board of Management, the Parent’s Association, the teachers and parents in the school for the work they are currently carrying-out.”


Tá fógartha ag an Aire Stáit do Ghnóthaí Gaeltachta, Joe McHugh T.D., go bhfuil deontas de €57,954 ceadaithe aige do Bhord Bainistíochta, Scoil an tSratha Mhóir chun cabhrú leo páirc astro a fhorbairt.

Ag fógairt an deontais dúirt an tAire McHugh go raibh sé ag cur an deontas seo ar fáil ar an gcoinníoll go gcuireann an scoil plean réadúil Gaeilge a bheas aontaithe leis an Roinn i bhfeidhm go háirithe ar bhaill óga an cheantair. “Tá a lán oibre ag dul ar aghaidh sa cheantar seo ar son na Gaeilge, agus molaim an Bord Bainistíochta, Coiste na dTuismitheoirí, na múinteoirí agus tuismitheoirí na scoile ar son na hoibre uilig ata faoi bhun acu.”
