Another weather hit weekend at Ballyliffin Golf Club.
The Saturday open was played in windy conditions with 11 handicapper Brian Ferry coming out on top in the break of tie with 38pts.  In 2nd place also on 38pts was 4 handicapper Eamonn Mc Dermott, he was 2 over after 2 but still finished the front 9 in 1 under par.   3 dropped shots in the middle of the back 9 cost him dearly. In 3rd spot with 36pts was the consistent Joe Sheridan.   Making a  return to winning the gross was Brendan Devlin [1], a round of one over gave him 35 gross pts and a few euros off his fourball, from what I hear.
In the opposite from last weekend it was the Sunday competition that was cancelled because of the weather this time.
The Wednesday Society was played in reasonable weather.  ‘That man’ again Eamon O Donnell came out on top with 41pts, I think we are going have to dope test him.  Following him home in 2nd place with 40pts was single handicapper Don Mc Gonagle with 40pts.  In 3rd spot was the consistent Derek Mc Feeley with 38pts.
