In response to significant local interest, Letterkenny Athletic Club is hosting an open training session at the Danny McDaid Track, Aura Leisure Centre, Letterkenny on Tuesday, February 16th at 6.30pm for new adults considering joining the club.

The session will be followed at 8pm by a meet and greet session, with a cross section of our athletes, coaches and club members during which light refreshments will be served. Letterkenny Athletic Club membership, both adult and juvenile alike, continues to grow and this is an opportunity for potential members to experience the training facilities.

Recently a fit for life group commenced training with the club with a view to taking part in the St. Patrick’s Day 5K run which takes place in Letterkenny.

Letterkenny Athletic Club currently caters for the elite athletes performing on the national and indeed International Stage right through to those who only recently have commenced athletic activity, so there is something truly for all abilities and age profiles.

Training on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week is managed by the club captains and under the supervision of head coach Teresa McDaid.

There is an extremely attractive introductory rate for the first year of club membership and this offers many benefits which will be explained at the open evening.

Looking ahead to the event, club chairman, Michael Galvin said: “The club is hoping to see as many as possible coming along. If they can’t make the training session, they are than welcome to join for the refreshments afterwards.”
