Denis McGuinness seals the deal!

Denis McGuinness seals the deal!

In the end it took a council worker to ‘seal the deal’ with some gentle persuasion!

Little did well-known Moville man Liam Skelly think when he started out for his daily walk on the shore front that he would spark a major rescue operation.

But that’s exactly what he did yesterday when he came across a stranded grey seal pup at Glenburney around 11.30am.

The young seal had become trapped against a log and despite Liam’s best efforts, the pup (or his fine set of sharp teeth!) were having none of it.

So along with friend and council worker Denis McGuinness, a plan was hatched.

And with some gentle persuasion using some delicate coaxing with the aid of a council shovel, the air managed to eventually return the little fella to the sea.
