The man suspected of killing criminal David Byrne in Dublin’s Regency Hotel recently took a bus from Lifford before returning home that evening.
The hitman, who hails from Co Tyrone, paid €14 for the day-trip of terror.
He was dropped off in Lifford, got the bus before traveling to Dublin for the daring hit which took place during a boxing match weigh-in.
It not not believed the assassin carried a gun on the bus but was given the weapon in Dublin by fellow gangsters before disposing of it before getting back on the bus to Donegal.
After the attack, the 46 year old gunman casually traveled to Bus Aras in the city-centre and before boarding the bus back to Lifford on the evening of February 5th.
The man was captured on camera wearing tracksuit and flat-cap.
Unlike his fellow gangsters who were disguised, including one as a woman, the Tyrone man was easily recognisable.
He handed himself into police in the North the day after they raided his home.
However, he was released after being told there was no arrest warrant out on him.
It is understood Gardai may move to extradite the man and are actively seeking a European arrest warrant.
