FOOTBALL: The FAI have decided that the result between Finn Harps and Sligo Rovers which was abandoned on Saturday night due to floodlight failure will stand.

Referee Padraig Sutton halted play in the 87th minute when the game stood at 1-1.

Partial floodlight failure occurred at The Showgrounds, and after waiting fifteen minutes for the lighting to be restored the game was abandoned.

Chris Lyons had given Sligo a first-half lead, but that was cancelled out by a thunderbolt from Damien McNulty in the 82nd minute.

However, just minutes later as Harps pressed for a winner the lights went out and the game was postponed.

Harps face Cockhill Celtic tomorrow night in the EA Sports Cup at Finn Park.
