The community of St. Johnston have been left stunned this morning following the tragic passing of popular young local man Jordan Curran.

Shell-shocked locals woke up to the devastating news that Jordan had tragically passed away.

Social media has been awash with hundreds paying tribute to a person described by many as being a wonderful person, that was full of life and fun.

Curran was a talented footballer and played for Kildrum Tigers from U8’s right through to the club’s first-team.

He played more recently of late with Raphoe Town, and both club’s paid tribute to him via their Facebook timelines.

Kildrum Tigers FC posted, “RIP Jordan Curran.

“We would like to send our condolences to the Curran family at this difficult time.

“Jordan lined out for the Tigers the whole way from U-8s to the senior team. We will always remember you, sleep tight.

“As a mark of respect all senior training is cancelled.”

Raphoe Town FC posted, “It with deep sadness and regret that we post the terrible news this morning of the sad passing of one of our senior team players Jordan Curran.

“Everyone at the club wishes to extend our deepest and most sincere sympathy to Jordan’s family and friends at this awfully sad time.

“As a mark of our utmost respect our U12 and U14 games scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week have been postponed.”
