Road HurlingUnderage Hurling notes

Minor

Buncrana took on St Eunans in Scarvey, this is an exceptional Buncrana team and they showed it again with a comprehensive win over the Letterkenny lads. This Buncrana team have won the last two Ulster Minor Shield’s and they are the backbone of their senior team, try as hard as they could the Eunans men just couldn’t break them down.

In Hibernian Park, the home team had a comfortable victory over Setanta, stung by their first round one point defeat to Carndonagh, the Burt lads put in a much improved performance and ran out easy winners.

The other two games in the minor league were much closer affairs, in Pairc na nGael, Letterkenny Gaels and Mc Cumhaills were in opposition. Mc Cumhaills made it two wins from two but only after overcoming a very determined Gaels team, who put in a much improved performance from their opening game. Mc Cumhaills have a bit more experience playing at this level and that proved the difference as they won a score line of 4.9 to 4.3.

In Fr Tierney Park, Ballyshannon there was another close battle between two evenly matched teams, Carndonagh arrived full of confidence as a result of their great win over Burt in the opening round, and were full value for their half time lead of 0.4 to 0.2. The Carn men got an early second half goal to go into a five point lead, but the Ballyshannon lads staged a great second half recovery and began taking some great long range scores. Both teams gave it their all and at the end of a great game the score was Aodh Ruadh 0.13 Carndonagh 1.5.

U 14.
In Div 2 Setanta were at home to Letterkenny Gaels, this young and very skilful Setanta team ran out convincing winners in this game despite the best efforts of Gaels.
