Senior Ladies Match: Four Masters Senior Ladies travelled to Fr Tierney Park in Ballyshannon on Sunday morning for the second game of the Senior Ladies Shield competition. The opposition was made up of players from Aodh Ruadh and Realt na Mara clubs who have almagamated this year and will be a tough test for the best of teams. However, the Masters Ladies played with great spirit and character, refusing to wilt under the strong opposition, putting in an impressive hour’s football. The half-time score of 1-7 to 0-3 to the home side didn’t reflect their efforts and a couple of unlucky wides and a narrowly missed goal chance could have seen the Masters or in the lead at the interval. The second half saw the home team hit another goal and some good points from enterprising forward play. This didn’t deter the Four Masters girls who kept going until the last whistle with points from Grace Nolan and Eimear McGroary and a well worked team move finished to the net by Molly Muldoon. Final Score was 2-12 to 1-7 in favour of the home side. Four Masters were well served by Casey Harvey, Claire Brady, Eilish McGovern, Kate Smith, Damaris Scott and Eva Diver, however, there is a real TEAM ethic about this squad and everyone who travelled today and lastweek to Robert Emmett’s can be happy with their efforts. The Ladies train on Wednesdays at 7:30pm in Tír Chonaill Park where attendances have been very encouraging over the last month. Senior Ladies Team manager is Micky Martin.
