1916-2016The Termon Easter Rising Memorial Committee has announced an upcoming commemoration service in acknowledgement of all who died during that Easter Rising of 1916.

This communal, non-denominational and non-political observance will take place in Termon on Saturday evening the 23rd of April at precisely 6pm.

The ceremony, conducted by members of the Irish army, will open with a short procession by army personal, scholars and musicians travelling from the nearby N56 to the new graveyard.

Included in the schedule will be; the raising of our national flag and reading of the proclamation, followed by, the unveiling of a commemorative plaque by local school children and its then blessing by spiritual ministers representative of all our local religious denominations.

“We would like to extend a most heartfelt welcome to all off our neighbours, near and far, to visit with us and participate in this evocatively reflective and unique historical occasion,” said a spokesman.
