Congratulations to our senior ladies who won the Senior Gaeltacht Competition on Monday last in Glenties. They will now go on to represent Donegal in the All Ireland competition in Cork on the June bank holiday weekend.  This was a hard fought victory against a very good Termon team. Glenfin playing with the wind in the first half started the best and were 3 points to 00 up after 10 minutes. Termon were awarded a free and a somewhat lucky kick ended up in the back of the Glenfin net to level the game. Glenfin replied with two quick points to put them back in the lead only for Gearldine McLaughlin to score another goal for Termon to put Termon one point up. In the last 10 minutes of the first half Glenfin scored 3 goals and a point the goals coming from Yvonne McMonagle and with Termon adding another goal to leave the half time score Glenfin 3.07 Termon 3.00. Glenfin started where they left off and two quick points from Yvonne McMonagle put Glenfin 9 points up. In the sixth minute of the second half Glenfin were awarded a penalty which Yvonne McMonagle converted to put 12 points between the sides, this proved to be Glenfin’s last score and with some superb defending against a very strong wind held Termon to just six points in the last 20 minutes of the second half to leave the full time score Glenfin 4-09 Termon 3-06. This was a great team effort but special mention has to go to the player of the match Yvonne McMonagle who scored 4. 06 with Karen Guthrie getting the other 3 points.                                  Glenfin Team. Tara Martin – Ciara Ward – Katy Herron – Diane McGlynn – Ann Marie Logue – Sinead McGinty – Rachel Ward – Karen Guthrie 03 – Kathy Ward – Grainne Houston – Colene McGrath – Mary Ward – Maggie Farley – Yvonne McMonagle 4-06 – Karen Ward. Subs used Ann Marie McGlynn for Ciara Ward- Mary Martin for Rachel Ward – Aine Ward for Maggie Farley.

Minor Board: Under age training: Wednesdays U8 & U10 6.00pm-7.00pm.                                                       Thursdays: U12, U13 & U14 Boys 6.15pm to 7.15pm.

Our U14 Boys are playing Fanad in the quarter final at home on Tuesday evening at 6.45pm. All players to be at the pitch at 6pm. Minor boys had hard luck in their semi-final against Milford when they were beat by 2 point after extra time in Milford last Wednesday evening.

Our U14 girls had mixed fortunes this week when on Tuesday the lost to Ballyshannon but then had a great victory over Four masters in Donegal town on Saturday on a score line of 6.12 to 8.04. Their next game is home to McCools next weekend with training at 7pm on Wednesday.

Seniors, Reserves or 3rd teams had no games this weekend. Seniors and Reserves are home to McCools next weekend.

Best of luck to all the Glenfin players who are involved with the Donegal Ladies team who are playing Westmeath in the Division 2 league final this weekend.
