Hard Luck to the U14 Boys who lost to Fanad Gaels in the quarter final on Tuesday 3rd of May. This is a very young side and they all tried very hard but Fanad were that bit stronger in the end.

Our U12 team got their year off to a great start when the beat Letterkenny Gaels at home on Wednesday the 4th of May. It was a great team performance. They are away to Convoy next Thursday the 12th of May at 7pm.

Ladies: Wednesdays U14 training 7pm to 8pm, minor training 8pm to 9pm.  Well done to our U14 girls team who had a great win over McCools on Saturday the 7th of May.

Congratulations to Karen Guthrie, Grainne Houston, Yvonne McMonagle, Katy Herron and Gemma Glackin who were all part of the Donegal Ladies panel that won promotion to Division 1 of the National football league last Saturday in Dublin. They beat Westmeath in the division 2 final on a score of 3.17 to 0.13. Four of the girls were on the starting 15 and they played a big part in this victory.

Our seniors and reserves played at home to McCools on Saturday the 7th of May. The reserves unfortunately were beat on a score of 0.06 to 2.09. Glenfin team Ryan Dorrian – Mark Temple – Shaun McGlynn – Finnian McGlinchey – Sean Foy 01 –  Aodhfin McGlynn – Steven Dorrian – Paul Bonner 02 – Hugh Foy – Tony Carlin – Ronan Carlin 01 – Liam Moy – Dylan McGlynn – PJ Scanlon – Shane Moy. Subs used William McGlynn for Finnian McGlinchey, Liam Breen for Liam Moy – Christopher McBrearty 02 for Dylan McGlynn.

Our seniors had a great victory over McCools on a score of 0.15 to 1.09. Conditions weren’t great for this game but Glenfin started the brighter and were 3points up after 10 minutes. McCools then replied with 1.01. The goal coming from Darren O’Leary and when he pointed again in the 16th minute left McCools up by 2 points. Glenfin rallied again and scored 3 points in the last 11 minutes of the first half to leave the half time score Glenfin 0.06 McCools 1.02. Glenfin got off to a great start in the second half and scored 4 unanswered points to put them 5 points up before McCools registered a point in the 9th minute to pull it back to 4 again. Three quick points in the 15th, 16th and 18th minute of the second half for Glenfin put 7 between the sides and Glenfin looked like they were home and dry but McCools had other ideas and pulled the game back to 3 points again. Conor Mc Bride and Paddy O Conner scored points for Glenfin to put them 5 up going into the last few minutes. McCools again were not finished and they scored 2 late points to leave the final score Glenfin 0.15 McCools 1.09.                           Glenfin Team – Liam O Meara – Martin O Donell – John Harkin – Gary Herron – Steven McGlynn – Daniel Harkin – Kyle Doherty – Stephen Ward – Paddy O Connor 0.10 – Gary Dorrian – Daniel McGlynn – Jason Morrow – Kevin McGlynn 01 – Michael McGlynn 01- Ciaran Foy 01.
