The penalties were taken by Paul McGovern, Sean Reilly, Mickey McCarron and Joe O’Boyle. CJ McGinley was lined up for the fifth penalty that didn’t have to be taken after Ard Scoil Rís missed two of their four attempts.

The team was captained by Packie Dunnion and included Andrew McGovern, Charlie McGinley and Sean Reilly who were all starters on the 1985 team as well.
