GAA NEWS: Aodh Ruadh continued their incredible run of form with another superb win over Letterkenny Gaels.

Letterkenny Gaels           1.10  Aodh Rua                            1.15

Aodh Rua continued their unbeaten run with another good victory at Pairc na nGael Letterkenny on Saturday evening. They opened brightly with five unanswered points through Johnny Gethins, Diarmuid McInerney Conor Patton and a brace from Michael Sticky Ward.  Gaels eventually got on the scoreboard through a Conor Mcbrearty free on 15 minutes and the same player was involved in a fine move a minute later with Seam McDonagh finishing to reduce the deficit to a single score. McDonagh had the ball in the net earlier but the referee adjudged the ball was handled on the ground. The Aodh Rua net minder Peter Boyle  was called upon a few times in the opening half to help keep the visitors in front. David McGurren added two more scores in the 17th and 26 minutes while McBrearty and the lively McDonagh responded for the home team to leave a point between them at the break. Gaels 1.3 Aodh Rua O.7

David Dolan got on the scoresheet in the opening minute of the second half before McBrearty replied with a close in free for the Gaels. In the 5th minute a short Gaels kick out was turned over and McInerney punished the home team to put unbeaten Aodh Rua four points to the good. Oisin Roper increased the lead with another fine score before Ciaran Cannon pointed for Gaels. Roper put five between them again before three Gaels points through Shane McGlade, a Shane Graham 45 and a fine individual effort from Paddy Doherty, which had to be deflected over the bar. McGurren for the visitors and Nicky McGarrigle exchanged scores in the 17th minute as both team went in search of the win. McGurren put three between them again in the 27th minute before Gaels keeper Graham converted another 45 to leave two between the teams on 29 minutes. In the final minute Sticky ward put three between them. Dolan and  Patton added late scores for the visitors to put them well clear of the rest of the pack in Division 3.
