LETTERKENNY 247 TRIATHLON NOTES: CALLAGHAN FINISHES 3RD IN HALF IRON-MAN

Letterkenny 247 Triathlon club notes

General

The club postponed the club Aquathon last Friday. It has been rescheduled for Friday the third of June at 7.30 pm in Gartan. Details are on the web page and facebook page.

The race was postponed due to the death of David Wasson father of club co- founder Adrian. The club extends its’ condolences to Adrian and all the Wasson Family.

Races

There were two races to report on. The half iron man in Galway and the European championships in Lisbon. Clara Quigley represented her club and country in Portugal In the European championships where she performed very well finishing in the top twenty in her category. Aidan Callaghan again had no luck in the Half iron man in Lough Cultra with the swim being cancelled due to fog. He still performed well finishing third with Gavin Crawford twelfth and Sean Mcfadden in his first triathlon of the year finishing sixty second.

Locally there were a few personal bests in the Buncranna five k with Paul Dillon and Natasha Kelly racing well.

Training

Training continues as follows

Monday: Gartan – Open Water Swim 6.30 pm

Tuesday: Aura track – Track session 7.50 pm

Wednesday : Aura Pool – Swim session 8.00 pm

Thursday : Foxhall TT or Brick 6.30pm

3 rd Aidan Callaghan 3.53.40 1 st in category

12 th Gavin Crawford 4.09.32 3 rd in category
