Letterkenny Rovers FC News:

The Senior teams season came to a close on Sunday last with the annual gala awards presentation night in the Station House Hotel.

A number of awards were handed out on the night with Player of the Year being won by Mark Forker while Young Player of the Year went to Tristan Ferris. The top goalscorer accolade was yet again won by Darren McElwaine while Paul McVeigh secured the goal of the season for his strike against Midleton.

The Players Player of the year was shared jointly by Rory Kelly and Paul Boyle.

Club Chairman Dessie Kelly thanked everyone for their efforts in what was an historic campaign for the club and the best in our 54 year history with the magical run to the Intermediate cup final.

The seniors had earlier lost 2-0 in the afternoon to Cockhill in the League Cup final.

The underage and Youth Presentation night takes place this Sunday at 6pm in the Station House Hotel and we would ask all our underage players, coaches and parents to make a special effort to attend this occasion which is one of the highlights of the Rovers social calendar.

The Donegal Youth League Presentation was also held last Sunday and we congratulate Sean Friel on winning the Leagues player of the season while Anthony Gormans men were once again feted for winning the Gorey Curran Cup.

Other on-field action last week saw our u14s Rovers  lose out 8-2 on aggregate to eventual winners Bonagee in the Champions League semi finals while they also bowed out of the Cup losing 4-1 at Kilmacrennan Celtic with Nathan Plumb on the scoresheet.

The u14s Crusaders lost 5-1 at Keadue with Aaron Bonner on the mark.

Mini-Lotto numbers were 4-7-19 and 24.
5 drawn from 7 with three correct win €15
Theresa McGonigle,Columba Crawford, Mollie Callan, Kay McDaid and Ian Cunningham the lucky winners.
Next weeks jackpot is €3725
Bingo continues in the Station House Hotel every Thursday night at 830pm sharp.
