TRAFFIC ALERT: TRAFFIC INFORMATION FOR PRESIDENT HIGGINS VISIT TO DONEGAL

TRAFFIC ALERT: President Michael D Higgins will visit Letterkenny on Saturday 11th June 2016. 

The event will take place at An Grianan Theatre, and as a result there will be a number of traffic disruptions around the town that day.

In order to facilitate the event, Port Road (Ramelton Road) will be closed from Station Roundabout (Tesco) Roundabout to the Courthouse Junction from 11am. to 2pm.

The Road will be re-opened immediately the President leaves the function.

The Theatre Car Park will not be accessible and on street parking will be restricted from 4 Lanterns to the Wheelchair Association Shop until the road re-opens.

Alternative Routes:

  • Traffic approaching the Station Roundabout travelling to the Main Street Area should divert via Pearse Road and Justice Walsh Road.
  • Traffic approaching from Oldtown Road travelling to the Main Street Area should divert via Oliver Plunket Road or Justice Walsh Road.
  • Additional Traffic Management plans and diversions will be in operation throughout Letterkenny to facilitate safe access on the day.
