FOUR PEOPLE IN GARDA CUSTODY AND MAN IN HOSPITAL AFTER ROAD SMASH

GardaFOUR MEN are in Garda custody and another man has been taken to hospital after a car collided with a van in Inishowen this afternoon.

The road traffic collision happened near the 19th hole pub in Bridgend, close to a turn-off to Muff.

Gardaí say a man in a van was injured in the crash.

He was taken to Letterkenny General Hospital where he is being treated for his injuries. He is said to be in a stable condition having suffered non life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the car was arrested at the scene and taken to Buncrana Garda Station.

Three other men have been taken to Letterkenny Garda Station where they are helping gardaí with their enquiries.

There were serious traffic delays on the Bridgend to Buncrana road for a time this afternoon.

Gardaí carried out a major follow-up operation after the crash.

It’s understood a patrol car was at the scene of the incident soon after the crash and gardaí quickly made arrests.
