LGFA MINORS

Our Ladies play their first game next Tuesday 12th July in Trialough at 7p.m. against Milford. Best of luck to all involved.

U12 Girls Training is on this Friday 08th @ 6pm.  Hoping to see you all there.

Our Ladies are holding a table quiz in the Atlantic House next Friday 15th July.

U9s and U10s Both teams travelled up to our neighbours Termon last Saturday on a very damp and blustery morning. Some mighty football was played by these young, future players of the club.

In the U10 game our goalkeeper Killian Friel played really well with some reflex saves and pinpoint kickouts, and the defence in front of him of Eoghan Logue, Caolan mc Elwaine, and Aaron Mclaughlin tackling hard and blocking well with some great defending. Declan Brougham, James Mc Ateer and Ciaran ‘The Baker’ Mc Elwaine controlled things around the middle of the field and were instrumental in setting up attacks for the 3 flying forwards of Cormac Sweeney, Shane Carr and Ultan Blaney who contributed handsomely to the scoreboard. Some of our players were missing through holidays, weddings and sickness but the remaining team members soldiered well in their absence. This is a hard working group of boys who play the game the proper way and are a joy to coach.

U9 game. Another close sporting game against a very good Termon team, great kickouts from goalkeeper Pauric Heraghty who organises his defence very well. Dean Friel, Adam Ward and Niall Toland are 3 tough wee defenders who are hard to get past, in the middle of the field Mark Hunter and Oisin Roarty worked very hard against tough opposition. Up front Darragh and Paddy McElwaine played with plenty energy and skill and set up loads of attacks for the busy Daibhead Lynch who scored some mighty points. Again this group of boys are very committed and work hard always both these teams are coached by Paul Dougie Coyle and Martin Mc Ateer.

Thanks to David Brady and Paddy Gallagher from the Termon club and to Eddie Harkin and James Cassidy who refereed both games and always encouraged both teams, thanks to all the parents who travelled up in large numbers to support the boys. Martin will be in touch early in the week with the plans for the U8 and U10s for next weekend.
