GAA NEWS: ST EUNAN’S OFFER CHANCE TO WIN €500 IN OPEN GOLF COMPETITION

ST EUNAN’S GAA CLUB NEWS: We still need a couple of Qualified Coaches for the Cúl Camps (minimum Foundation Level) with 100 online bookings already received (thank you!). Contact Paul McGovern on 086-811 4151 to apply. Football Camp is July 25th – 29th and Hurling & Camogie August 8th – 12th.

We are selling tickets for the County Players Training Fund in The Shopping Centre this Friday and we are looking for people to give us just one hour of your time between 10am and 6pm. If you can help, please call or text Alma with your name on 087-695 2551 asap.

This Friday evening in O’Donnell Park we are hosting Spanish exchange students for Hurling / Camogie and Football between 6pm and 8pm. Eunan O’Donnell and Danny O’Donnell have kindly volunteered to help put them through their paces with hurling and camogie from 6pm until 7pm and then football from 7pm until 8pm. The students are aged between 11 and 15 years old.

There is NO CENTURY CINEMAS SUNDAY ACADEMY this week due to the Ulster Finals in Clones.

Anyone that ordered Ulster Final tickets can collect them this evening (Wed. 13th) in the Clubhouse between 7:30pm and 8:30pm.

The Bingo Jackpot currently stands at €2,100 so don’t forget to come out to play or to help!! It’s slightly later at 9pm this week to accommodate the Ulster Finals.

The U14 Dev. team beat the Gaels last night and will play the winners of Fanad and N. Colmcille, day and time tbc.

The County Minor Hurling Final v Buncrana is scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday in Burt at 7pm. It remains to be seen if the game will go ahead. Keep an eye on social media for updates on the situation.

All roads lead to Clones once again for the Ulster Football Finals this weekend with Donegal taking part in both the Minor game at 12 noon and the Senior game at 2pm on Sunday. Best of luck to Niall O’Donnell, Aaron Deeney and Noel Keaveny in the Minor match and to Rory Kavanagh, Éamonn Doherty and Caolan Ward as well as Brendan Kilcoyne and Maxi in the Senior game.

The Senior hurlers travel to Burt for a championship round-robin game on Saturday evening, throw-in at 7:30pm.

The Juniors will take on Ardara at home on Saturday evening with a 7pm throw-in in the league.

The Minor girls game set for Tuesday was postponed, training continues on Friday evening at 7pm.

The Minor hurling championship final v Buncrana has been set for this Thursday evening in Burt at 7pm. The lads advanced to the final after a good semi-final win over MacCumhaills last week.

The U16 boy’s footballers recorded another good win on Monday night beating Milford. Their next game is away to Gaoth Dobhair with day and time tbc. The Dev. Team are down for a home game with Downings again day and time tbc.

The U14 Div. 1 football team wait on the winners of Termon and Malin in the Northern Board Championship Final. That game was originally scheduled for this Wednesday but is now delayed. The lads qualified after a great win over Gaoth Dobhair in a very competitive semi-final. The Dev. Team had a good win over the Gaels in the Shield on Tuesday and will now travel to Fanad or N. Colmcille for their semi-final.

The U14 girls had a play-off game with Downings on Monday night and turned in a great performance to win by 3 points and they travel to Aodh Ruadh BS this Thursday night for their county semi-final.

The U16 girls training is Wednesdays and Fridays from 7pm to 8.30pm.

The U16 Camogie starts on Monday (18th) with a game away to Burt. Camogie training continues on Wednesday’s at 5:30pm. New players welcome.

We have almost 100 bookings for our Cúl Camps Football Camp on July 25th – 29th, be sure to get signed up asap online at kelloggsculcamps.ie. The hurling & Camogie camp is on between August 8thand 12th and is also available to book online.

This week’s winning lotto numbers are: 4-9-12-17. Six winners matched 3 numbers and win €20 each: Sinead Flanagan, Glenoughty Close (DD member); John McFadden, Beechwood Rd; Ronnie Flanagan, Church Hill, Clones; Franco Carr, Elms, Glencar; Colin Boyle, Kilcar and Donal Kelly, Dooballagh (all Adrian Shields).

Club Bingo will start at the slightly later time of 9pm this Sunday due to the Ulster Finals. The Jackpot currently stands at €2,100.

We extend our sympathies to the family of Charlie Kerr, Glencar who is an uncle of big Vincent’s.
