school fireA GAELSCOIL’S new home has been burnt down in an arson attack.

The old Moville Boys school had been designated as the new home of the town’s gaelscoil which has been operating from the local GAA club since 2002.

After years of lobbying the gaelscoil was given permission two weeks ago to re-locate to the former boys school.

But in the early hours of yesterday the building was gutted in an arson attack.

Supt Eugene McGovern has appealed for anyone with information about the incident to contact detectives.

Gaelscoil Cois Feabhail chair Anthony Doogan said: “This is a major blow to the school’s plans moving forward, especially after all the hard work.”
