Gaeil Fhánada Cúl Camp 2016

More than 50 children are enjoying the Gaeil Fhánada Cúl Camp this week with a good mixture of locals and holiday makers, enjoying learning new skills. They are looking forward to the visit of one of our County players on Thursday prior to the big game against Cork in Croke Park on Saturday.

Under 16

Our Under 16’s are playing away to St. Michaels on this Wednesday the 27th July at home.

U12 Parish League

The parish league U12 section got of to a fast pace on Thursday evening in very wet conditions. The poor weather conditions did not affect the skill levels on show. Each group lined out a strong side with the hunger to suceed. Conor Heraghty started the scoring line with a excellent crossfield pass from Darren McAteer to start a series of scores in a few very fast paced game.

Ciaran Sweeney held tight to the ground with very little passing him by. Shaun Carr towered in the midfield line and true to form stood strong. Jessica Coll & Grainne Sweeney played exceptionally well even under pressure from the one and only Méabh Duffy. Orla Mc Ateer and Róisín Carr kept cool heads in the back line. Caolan Gibbons held his own out in the wing with many pinpoint passes received by Patrick Gallagher who showed amazing strength and power on the field and is definitely one to watch in the future.

Brandon Friel can finish a ball like no other with a little help from Caitlin Heraghty showing pure determination on the field. The big man from Rinboy, Cian Friel kept the whole operation running like a well oiled machine as did Ronan Mc Fadden who showed super leader skills on the field. Shaun Mc Devitt the mighty man from Carland is rapid fast and uses this to his advantage everytime.

Hugh Rodgers can handle almost everything that comes his way. Aoife Gibbons stood tight at the backline with not much passing her by. The next 3 weeks is going to be a battle and we will provide updates after each group game. Coaches are Paddy Heraghty & Tracey Mc Bride.

Minor Championship possibly on Bank Holiday Monday, watch our Facebook page for further updates.
