Gorman helps Stevenage to shock cup win over Ipswich

FOOTBALL: Former Letterkenny Rovers youth star Dale Gorman has helped his club Stevenage pull off a massive cup shock away to Ipswich Town at Portman Road.

Gorman played the full 90 minutes, and by all accounts produced a superb performance in the middle of the park for the League Two side.

A strike from Ben Kennedy on 53 minutes settled the contest and ensured one of the cup shocks of the night.

Gorman will be hoping he can retain his place in the starting XI when Stevenage return to league action on Saturday away to Notts County.

Former Finn Harps and Derry City midfielder Stephen McLaughlin was on the mark for Southend again tonight after scoring at the weekend.

However, it was in vain, as Gillingham ran out 3-1 winners – Southend will be disappointed, but it’s been a great start to the season for the Clonmany man.
