It has been a dark two months for the Brennan family, as not only have they had to say goodbye to dad Leo, but now to uncle Pádraig.

Writing on Twitter, Moya expressed her sadness.

My dear uncle and Clannad member Padraig Duggan passed away peacefully this morning. Rest in Peace Padraig @ClannadMusic

Tributes from other social-media users have flooded the site as people extend their condolences to the Brennan family. Media pundit André Archimbaud said, “My sincerest condolences to you [Moya] & your family right now. Your music has been stalwart in my life for 30 years”, and countless people have reached out to the family with warm wishes.

Pádraig along with his twin brother, Noel, were the youngest of six children of Aodh (Hugh) and Máire Duggan.

They grew up in the Gaoth Dobhair Gaeltacht, after early musical proficiency, joined their niece and nephews, the Brennans, to form Clannad in the early 1970s.
