EDUCATION: This September the Irish School of Reflexology is going to branch off and start teaching their Diploma in Reflexology at the Base Enterprise Centre in Stranorlar.

There are only a few weeks left till the 24th and 25th of September when the first class will take place.

This is going to be a great opportunity for the people from the area who are interested in Complementary therapies, want to change their career or expand their skills, to get involved and enroll for the new term.

Tatiana Grosso Lawless, Principal of the ISR, told Donegal Daily, “This is our first year teaching our Practitioner’s Diploma in Reflexology in Co. Donegal and we are very excited about this new adventure.

“We are very proud of our school and the level of preparation we provide during the class and one to one teaching we supply during the year. The sequence we teach is the Eunice Ingham’s sequence and it has proven to be very effective.”

The Irish School of Reflexology provide professional training in traditional reflexology, which enables students to build their own practice or add to their existing health care practice.

Tatiana added, “The school aims to offer students a fulfilling learning experience and build confidence in their ability to help others. Our overall mission is to promote healing through the benefits of reflexology.

“The diploma course consists of 150 hours of tutoring plus 60 hours of practical work, and covers different aspects of reflexology, including theory, anatomy, physiology and practical application.

“At the ISR we are very proud of the standard of our teaching and the level of preparation that we provide. We are constantly getting great feed back about the effectiveness of the treatment that we teach, the syllabus and that makes us even more proud to be part of the ISR.

“The year is a great opportunity for the students to get to know new people but also themselves . We see it constantly in our students. They change throughout the year, they discover their true potential, meet new friends and settle in very well in the classroom.”

At the end of the term students will be required to complete case studies and the examination will be held approximates two months after.

After their Graduation students are eligible for Membership with the National Register of Reflexologists (IRL). It will open up many opportunities for them: start their own Practice, work in beauty salons, Hotel , hospitals and many more.

The course is designed to enable students to develop the skill and in-depth knowledge required for effective treatment and evaluation of a client, by having good techniques, by taking good consultation notes and keeping accurate records; by using good listening skills and by an overall caring attitude; to help students gain confidence and experience through supervised work; to understand the holistic approach – mental, physical, spiritual and social; and to become informed about the skills necessary to start up and manage a professional practice.
