GAA News: Glenfin ladies secure massive win over St. Eunan’s

Hard luck to Stephen Carr and the Donegal minors who were beat by Galway in the All Ireland Semi-final on Sunday the 21 st in Croke Park.

 

Senior Ladies Football

Senior ladies had a great victory in the league V St Eunans on Sunday the 21 st . They were in control for the full hour and ran out winners on a score of St Eunans 1.03 – Glenfin 5.22.

Glenfin Team and scorers: Faith Harkin – Rachel Ward – Sinead McGinty – Diane McGlynn – Mary Martin – Katy Herron – Jessica Martin – Karen Guthrie 03 – Grainne Houston 1.02 – Aine Ward – Colene Mc Grath 04 – Laura McKenna 01 – Roisin Moy 01 – Yvonne McMonagle 3.08 – Karen Ward 1.01. Subs Used: Maggie Farley 02 – Catherine Browne – Ciara Ward – Kathy Ward.

Their next fixture is the senior championship semi-final against Four Masters next Sunday the 28 th at 11.00 am in Donegal town.

 

Lotto

Lotto winning numbers for 16/08/2016 are 8-5- 1-7- 2-3- 6-4. Martin McGlynn, Sean McGlynn and Laura McKenna matched 3 numbers and won €20.00 each. Jackpot for the 23/08/08/2016 is €4050.00

Minor Board:

Under age training: U8 and U10 training will take a break now for a few weeks.

 

U13

U13 boys play Cloughaneely at home on Friday evening at 7pm

 

U16

U16 boys had a great victory over Red-Hughs in the Division 3 Semi-final in Glenfin on Wednesday evening. They now play Naomh Colmcille in the final on Monday the 22 nd at 6.15pm in Convoy

U16 Girls next fixture TBC

 

U18  
Minor Girls play Fanad Gaels in the County Quarter final next Tuesday the 23rd in Glenfin. Throw in at 7.00pm.

 

 

Senior Men Football

Our seniors and reserves played Milford on Saturday the 20 th at home in the league. The reserve game ended Glenfin 1.08 – Milford 1.11. This game looked like it was over after 3 minutes of the second half when Milford were 1.10 to 02 up. But great credit to Glenfin they never gave up out scoring Milford in the last 25 minutes by 1.06 to 02 but it just wasn’t enough.

Subs Used: Paul McGlynn – PJ Scanlon 01 – Liam Breen.

The senior game ended with 3 points the margin also in favour of Milford, It was a fairly even first half with Glenfin getting the better start and were 3 points up after 10 minutes. Milford then got off the mark and the margin was just 1 point after 20 minutes in favour of Glenfin. Milford finished the first half the stronger and went in at half time 1 point up on a score of 06 to 07. Milford started where they left off and were 4 up after 17 minutes before Glenfin got their first goal on the 20 minute mark to put just 1 point between the sides.

Milford recovered well from the goal and scored 1.02 to put 6 between the sides before Glenfin finished off the scoring with a goal to leave the final score Glenfin 2.09 Milford 1.15.

Both teams are away to McCools in the second championship match of the group next Saturday the 27th.
