Donegal bands head to Electric Picnic this weekend

Donegal’s monthly Irish language music and dance event, the Cabaret Craiceáilte, travels from its base in Teach Hiúdaí Beag, An Bun Beag, Gaoth Dobhair, to the Electric Picnic in Co Laois this weekend.

Craiceáilte, which has been a platform for Irish language musicians since 1993, hosts the Cabaret at the Picnic every year, and features many of Donegal’s top bands and performers every year.

This years Cabaret Craiceáilte, in the Puball Gaeilge/Mindfield Arena on Saturday at 6pm, features Letterkenny band For Foresters, and Donegal Gaeltacht singers Megan Nic Ruairí, Eve Belle, Emma Ní Fhíoruisce, Diane Ní Chanainn as well as Gaoth Dobhair rap act CRAOS.

They will share the Craiceáilte stage with some of Ireland’s top Irish language traditional/rock and reggae acts.
