*Intermediate Championship*
St Nauls 0-13 CLG BnaG 4-13
Na Galloglaigh made it 3 wins from 3 in Group A of the Intermediate Championship with a good win down in Mountcharles. The pitch was boggy with conditions wet and slippy and it was our hosts who adapted far better to the situation in the first half. Their handling was much better and they won the majority of early breaks to go 3 points ahead, with a great Caolan Mc Gettigan save preventing things from getting worse.

As has happened in the majority of games however the boys grew into the match and some superb free-taking from Gary Merritt got them on the scoreboard. Two rather fortuitous goals in the last ten minutes of the half actually put Na Galloglaigh into the lead at the break, despite St Nauls having most of the play. For the first goal Gary Merritt slipped while taking a 45 and his effort bounced off a number of Nauls defenders before ending up in the back of the net.

Several minutes later a long high ball from Darragh Black into the square saw it bobble about again before Luke Barrett got the final touch to put it to the back of the net to leave the half time score 0-10 to 2-5. The second half was much better from Na Galloglaigh as they raised the tempo and intensity they had been lacking in the first half. They were defending better and turning St Nauls over much more often and up top they were very clinical with hardly any wides throughout the match.

Christopher Barrett added a third goal midway through the half and as the game entered the final stages Cathal Mc Gettigan finished a great team move for goal number 4, to see the boys run out convincing winners, 0-13 to 4-13. Next up is a repeat fixture against St Nauls, as Na Galloglaigh welcome them to Moyle Park for a Division 2 game.

Team: Caolan McGettigan, Gavin Grier, Barry McNulty, Brandon Toye, Gary Merrit (1-5), Paddy Peoples, Jonny Logue, Luke Barrett (1-2), Joey Cullen, David Curley, Pauric Curley, Darragh Black (0-2), PJ Hagan (0-2), Christopher Barrett (1-0), Kyle Black (0-2). Subs: Tj Evesson and Cathal McGettigan (1-0) for P. Curley and D. Black, Dean Burgess, Cormac Friel, Enda McHugh, Caolan Bolton, Martin Doyle

*Reserve Championship*
St Nauls 0-5 CLG BnaG 3-11
The Reserves advanced to the quarter finals of the Championship with a comprehensive win over St Nauls in Mountcharles. The first half was a close affair with both teams taking time to adapt to the wet and heavy conditions. St Nauls opened the scoring with a point but frees from Gary Helferty and Martin Doyle gave Na Galloglaigh the lead.

Although the game was end to end scores were hard to come by with both teams missing several chances. St Nauls equalised with a free but for the last 10 minutes of the half Na Galloglaigh started to get on top and dominate with points from Doyle and Paul Sweeney giving them a 2 point lead at half time. Na Galloglaigh brought their domination into the second half and it was pretty much one way traffic for the half. Their first attack resulted in a goal when Emmet Conaghan scored from close range and from the resulting kick out Caolan Bolton got a point.

The move of Marty Doyle into full forward caused a lot of problems for the St Nauls defence and Doyle soon had a brace of goals to give the visitors a comfortable lead. Na Galloglaigh scored 3-7 in total in the second half and managed to restrict their hosts to just 3 points in an excellent performance.

Some of the younger members of the team really stepped up and they were also able to call on plenty of experience from the bench to see out the game. Next up is a home game to St Nauls in the league with the Championship quarter final to follow after that.

Team: Gavin McFadden, Patrick Ferry, Paul Grier, Matthew Stewart, Cormac Toland, Enda McHugh (0-2), Cormac Friel (0-1), Paul Sweeney (0-2), Dean Burgess (0-1), Caolan Bolton (0-1), Martin Doyle (2-2), Emmet Conaghan (1-0), Paul Fisher, Gary Helferty (0-1). Subs: Paul Nash (0-1) for Helferty (42m), James Whelan for Burgess (45m), Nigel Black for Grier (47m), Sean McHugh and Aodh McCormack for Sweeney and Fisher (50m), Conall McFadden
