Four Masters retain Senior Championship status with win over Glenfin

Four Masters have retained their Senior Championship status with a comfortable win over Glenfin this evening in Killygordon.

Both sides came into this clash on the back of some disappointing results in the group stages of the Donegal SFC.

Naturally, both were keen to gain victory to ensure their status at senior level for another season, and it was Four Masters who got it.

A goal from Paddy Reid was the crucial score in this game, and with Michael Doherty in sensational form – the Donegal Town men were too hot to handle.

It was a tense and tight first-half, but Four Masters led by four at the break on a score-line of 0-06 to 0-02.

However, a goal early in the second-half from Reid knocked the stuffing out of Glenfin, and Four Masters powered on to record a comfortable nine point win.

Four Masters will play senior football next season, while Glenfin will have one more chance to retain their status when they play the losers of Ardara and Killybegs who meet in the other relegation play-off tomorrow.
