Diver rescued off the coast of Fanad

A diver had to be airlifted from a vessel off the Donegal coast yesterday after suffering a suspected case of the bends.

Malin Head Coastguard confirmed they conducted the rescue operation which started at approximately 3.30pm.

The diver, who was diving off the wreck of the HM Audacious, was airlifted by the Rescue 118 helicopter.

He was flown to the decompression chamber at Craigavon Hospital.
