Malin GAA club proud of their senior panel as they lose Donegal SFC semi-final

Malin GAA Notes:

Seniors: Malin seniors lost out in the semi-final of the Michael Murphy Sports Donegal Senior Championship by two points to Glenswilly.

The club are very proud of the team and would like to say well done to Terence Coulhoun, Anthony Kelly, Eamon Ryan, Charles Byrne, Martin Conlan, Martin Lafferty and all the players on the senior panel for getting this far, a great achievement for the club.

The team now have one league game left against Sean MacCumhaill at home.

Moville Ladies:

Well done to the Moville ladies team and Aoife McColgan who beat St. Paul’s of Belfast in the Ulster Senior Club Championship.

The club would like to wish Aoife and the Moville ladies well in the semi-final against St Macartan’s on the 16th of October.

Underage:

The under 16 girls beat Glenswilly last Saturday in the County Quarter Final. The match went down to the wire, ending in a draw at full time and they managed to win after extra time. The team was: Tara Kelly, Rachel Harkin, Caiti Farren, Laura McGeoghegan, Alana Mc Daid, Breda Doherty, Ailbhe Mc Laughlin, Siobhan Farren, Niamh Doherty, Kerri Stevens, Tara O’Connor, Erin Mc Laughlin, Ciara Mc Laughlin, Diane Mc Gilloway, Aine Mc Colgan and Ellen Keyes.

The semi-final is on next Saturday the 8th of October. The under 12 girls start back training this Wednesday from 4:00 – 5:00pm, All girls are reminded to bring runners, football boots, €2 and a gum shield, new members welcome. The under 10 boys had a great day of football in Letterkenny last Saturday, playing Ardara, Glenswilly, Buncrana, and St. Eunan’s. The club would like to say a big thank you to Anthony Farren and the St Eunans Club for hosting a fantastic tournament. The under 9 boys also played at half time in the senior championship semi-finals on Sunday.

Lotto: There was no winner of this week’s jackpot of €1000. The numbers drawn were 2-7-3-6-5-4-1. The €50 winner was Aimee McLaughlin, Drumaville. Next week’s jackpot is €1050.

Club Pool Room: The pool room is now open every Saturday and Sunday evenings from 8:00pm to 11:00pm in the clubhouse for anyone looking to play a game of pool.

There will be both an under 18 and an over 18 Weekly Pool League starting in our Pool Rooms, with the U18 league kicking off on Friday 7th October and the O18 starting on Saturday 8th October. Entry is €5, winner is the best of 3 games. You can enter by contacting John McLaughlin (JM) on 086 3858654.

Jiving Lessons Jiving Lessons continue in the clubhouse every Monday from 9pm to 10pm with Josie & Catriona. €5 per person. Everyone Welcome.

Irish Dancing: There will be Irish dancing lessons upstairs in the clubhouse every Wednesday from 4:00 to 5:15pm and every Friday 4:00 to 5:30 for boys and girls from age 3 and upwards. All beginners welcome, competitive and non-competitive dancers. Contact Donna for more details 0862615755.

Club Gym: Charlie Byrne Health and Fitness is now running exercises classes in the New Get Fit Gym at the Malin Gaa Clubhouse. Mixed morning classes at 6:30am and 9:30am, Ladies only class at 6:30pm and Indoor cycling at 7:30pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Men’s class on Tuesday and Thursday at 7:30pm.  €5 per class or €60 for all classes for 6 weeks. 1 year Gym Membership for existing Malin Gaa members €100. New Gym members €120. Call 0874103782 or message on Facebook for more details.

Club Shop: The club shop is open every Saturday from 12.00 – 2.00 and Sunday from 11.20 – 2.00 or alternatively contact Susan Byrne on 9370638 or 0867832242. The shop has a great range of stock in all sizes including coats, jackets, hoodies, tracksuits, socks, shorts, hats, new gear bags and much more club merchandise.
