A stunning Donegal Island has been the voted the No.1 experience in Ireland by a leading Irish tourism website.

Cruit Island, in West Donegal was voted the No.1 most authentic place to visit in Ireland, and was described as a ‘paradise’.

Explore Ireland review all that is good about our beautiful country and serve as a guide to tourists to point them in the right direction.

As we know, Donegal is the undisputed most beautiful county in Ireland – and that has been reiterated again by the experts from Explore Island.

Explore Ireland listed their ‘Top Ten’ best experiences in Ireland, and this is what they had to say about the spectacular beauty of Cruit Island:

1. Experience: Cruit Island, Donegal

“Out of all my memories of this rugged part of the world, a cycle to Cruit Island on the Wild Atlantic Way remains the sharpest.

“I never imagined there could be somewhere so beautiful. Gorgeous beaches (12, no less), wild horses on the shore, and a tiny population. Paradise.”

Take note Minister for Agriculture and Marine Michael Creed and stop the crazy idea that erecting an Oyster Farm on this stunning area would be good for this area.
