Ballyliffin Golf Club Results by Phelim Davenport

The Saturday Open was won by visitor Stephen Leathem[6] with a score of 33pts. In 2nd place was Patrick J Doherty[20] with 32pts. Cormac Mc Keone[4] was 3rd also with 32pts. In 4th spot was Barry Keeney[11] with 31pts. Noel Quigley [6] slipped in to take the Gross with 29 gross pts. It’s not often those scores take the prizes round Ballyliffin.

The Sunday Confined was won by 8 handicapper Paul Mc Laughlin[r] with 36pts. The ‘Rockster’ has been watching other Sunday morning men lifting prizes and decided to get in on the act. In 2nd place also on 36pts was another Sunday morning man J J Lafferty[19]. The last time Jim Coyle[21] was in the prizes there was still a hard border, it’s not easy for him having to play with Andy , Danny and Paddy every Sunday but he put on a pair of earmuffs and took 3rd place with 35pts. The Carn contingent were back again with Mick Mc Garry[19] taking 4th also with 35pts. A week on tour in the Great North Links Classic must have helped Jim Porter[7] because he took the Gross with 29 gross pts.

The Wed. Soc. was won by Ryanair’s finest pilot Jason Mc Laughlin with 36pts. In 2nd spot young Terry Coyle with 34pts. Well he tells me he’s young anyway. In 3rd place was Cleagh’s finest Philip Doherty with 33pts.
