Four Masters U13’s produce superb performance to win Divisional Final

Huge well done to our U13 boys football team and coaches who defeated Killybegs 6-12 to 1-09 in the South Donegal Division 1 final. The lads put in great team performance with everyone doing their bit. The score taking, tackling and kick passing from both teams was of the highest order. This is the 1st division 1 title we’ve won in a number of years. The lads now play Milford in the county semi final on Wednesday, venue TBA. Well done all.

Well done to Hannah Crawford who got U14 development squad player of the year and Casey Harvey who got Minor player of the year from all at Four Masters.

The Bord nÓg AGM takes place on Friday 21st October at 8pm in the Abbey Hotel. All welcome. Anyone interested in getting involved with underage teams or administration at Bord na nÓg level should contact Pauric Harvey 0860523905 ASAP.

Four Masters Seniors and Reserves play away to Cloughaneely Sunday 23rd October at 1:30pm and 3pm. All support welcome.

Congratulations to our Minor Camogie Team who have won the Minor County Championship 2016 after a hard fought battle with Burt on Sunday in Tirchonaill Park. Burt led the match right up until the last five minutes when two super goals sealed the win for a joint team 4Gaels. Final score 4Gaels 3:5 Burt 1:6. Scorers for Four Masters were Niamh Doherty 1:1; Emer Burke 1:0; Aine McGroarty 0:2. Well done to all the team and management.

Another wonderful performance served up by our U13 girls vs Glenfin away this evening (Thurs) to book our place in a county semi final. Four Masters wasted no time with Sarah Canny scoring a goal within the first minute of the game. We never lost the lead after that. 2 goals each for Aine Byrne & Sofia Miziri as well as points from Aoife Cox & Ciara Gillespie Cassidy left us 5-2 to 1-4 ahead at half time. The score doesn’t reflect how close the game was but resolute defending and some wonderful point blank saves from Rachel Reid kept us in control. Further points in the second half from Ciara Cox, Lucy Monaghan and Ciara Gillespie Cassidy kept our lead in tact. Ciara Cox & Emma Sweeney added goals with Four Masters running out 7.5 to 2.6 winners. This was a great team performance with the girls displaying improvement all over the pitch. All the players gave 100% while on the pitch, defending strongly and attacking with great accuracy. Well done to all the girls and good luck in the semi final.
