Amazing talent shown by students at Letterkenny Shotokan Karate Club’s Competition today

A number of students from beginners to black belt took part in the The Letterkenny Shotokan Karate Club Individual Kata and Team Kata Competitions today at the Aura Leisure Centre.

Awards were given to students for Overall Best Spirit, Male award went to Cormack Quinn and female award went to Kiera Feeney. An award was presented to Finn Boyle for Best Punch and the Best Kick award went to Athira Prasanth.

Two raffle prizes for their participation in the recent Barefoot Walk fundraiser went to Zoe Lynch and Kiera Feeney. Awards were presented for Students of the year for 2016/2017.

Intermediate student of the year Zoe Lynch and Junior student of the year Adam Savva. Senior Student of the Year for 2016/2017 went to Christopher O’Donnell.

The next club grading will take place on Wednesday 30th November and the Christmas Pool party for club members will take place on Saturday 17th December.

 

Individual Kata Results

White Belts

1 st Place – Kiera Feeney, 2 nd Place – Fionn Boyle, 3 rd Place – Kaleigh Blancherad & Raphael Manlagnit.

 

Orange Belts

1 st Place – Charlene Neeley, 2 nd Place – Aoife Gallagher, 3 rd Place –Jennifer Neeley & Haseb Nuawz Ridar Kashif.

 

Yellow to Green Belts

1 st Place –Adam Savva, 2 nd Place – Zoe Lynch, 3 rd Place – Oisin Quinn & Oran Mulligan.

 

Purple to Black Belts

1 st Place –Niall Quinn, 2 nd Place – Cormac Quinn, 3 rd Place – Athira Prasanth

 

Team Kata – Juniors
1 st Place – Krazy Karate Kids
2 nd Place – Crazy Karate Girls

 

Team Kata – Seniors
1 st Place – Water Malone’s
2 nd Place – Team I Don’t Care
3 rd Place – Hian Sandan Pandas
