Kilcar man titled Person of the Year by London’s Donegal Association

Kilcar native Michael Cunningham has been given the title ‘Person of the Year’ for 2017 by the Donegal Association’s London branch.

Michael is involved with London’s Tir Chonaill Gaels GAA team and his home club of Kilcar.

He will receive an award at a formal ceremony held by the association on the 19th of November.

The London branch of the Donegal Association was founded in 1947 when many Donegal people emigrated to London.

They host social evenings and annual dinner dances.

By spending time together a great sense of community was created, which still lives on almost seven decades later.

The Donegal Association has branches across the world where Donegal natives come together.
