Donegal’s ETB schools open as usual tomorrow

The 15 ETB Schools under the direct management of Donegal Education and Training Board (ETB) will not be impacted by the proposed strike day announced by ASTI (the Association of Secondary Teachers of Ireland), scheduled for implementation tomorrow.

This is because the majority of teachers who work in the schools and centres under the management of Donegal ETB are members of TUI (Teachers’ Union of Ireland).

Dr Martin Gormley, Director of Schools, has advised that Donegal ETB schools have been inundated with calls from parents seeking information on the matter.

Speaking today Dr Gormley stated “The message from the Donegal ETB Schools is that our doors are very much open and that all classes and school activities are not affected in any way by the ASTI strike days or by the supervision issue.”

There are in total 27 post primary schools in Donegal. The 15 schools under the management of Donegal ETB and who will not be affected by the strike actions are:

ABBEY VOCATIONAL SCHOOL, Donegal Town
COLÁISTE AILIGH, Leitir Ceanainn
COLÁISTE NA CARRAIGE, Carrick
COLÁISTE PHOBAIL CHOLMCILLE, Tory Island
CRANA COLLEGE, Buncrana
DEELE COLLEGE, Raphoe
ERRIGAL COLLEGE, Letterkenny
FINN VALLEY COLLEGE, Stranorlar
GAELCHOLAISTE CHINEÁL EOGHAIN, Buncrana
GAIRMSCOIL MHIC DIARMADA, Arranmore Island
GAIRM SCOIL CHÚ ULADH, Cloghan
MAGH ENE COLLEGE, Bundoran
MOVILLE COMMUNITY COLLEGE, Moville
